As our ability to capture, store and transmit information increases there is demand for searching more and more; simultaneously we are able to get more diverse information (pictures, music, video, medical images) whose search is more difficult. Where are we and where will we be in this pursuit of two related but divergent goals? |

Prof. Sadagopan is the Founder Director of International Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore since 1999. Earlier, he had taught at Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IITK) & Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB) for many years. He had also taught at RUTGERS, the State University of New Jersey & Asian Institute of Technology Bangkok. He went to Madras University for his BE (Hons) and obtained his MS & PhD degrees from Purdue University, USA. Prof. Sadagopan is a prolific writer and a featured columnist for Times of India and several magazines. He has authored several books, including e-Governance Today (2008), IT Today (2008) – An Indian Perspective, IT – Careers &Companies (2006), IT – Perspectives and Trends (2006), IT – Technologies & Products (2006) published by ICFAI press; Enterprise Resource Planning – A Guide to Indian Managers (1999), Tata McGraw Hill; Management Information Systems (1997), Prentice Hall. He is a Fellow of IEE (UK), Computer Society of India and Institution of Engineers (India). |
