A special lecture was organized at the International School of Information Management (ISiM), University of Mysore, Mysore on the Wednesday, 23rd of September 2009 at 10 AM. The special lecture was delivered by Mr. Ajay Malgaonkar, Group Project Manager, Infosys Technologies Limited on the topic of “Changing Paradigms of Digital Marketing & Multichannel Commerce”.
Digital Marketing is the practice of promoting products and services using digital distribution channels to reach consumers in a timely, relevant, personal and cost-effective manner. This practice predominantly uses the new age tools like Internet, mobile and other interactive channels for reaching out to the masses. On the other hand, Multi channel commerce refers to the practice of pursuing multiple means to promote or doing business. The two techniques go hand-in hand in the modern day business scenarios. It today’s business scenario, it is noteworthy that all popular brands are actively employing the techniques of Digital Marketing and Multi channel communications for a better visibility and market position.
The speaker introduced the audience to the general practices and the relevance of the Digital Marketing in today’s world. He also addressed the issues like emerging trends and the employment opportunities in this field during his talk. After the talks the speaker also interacted with the audience in the process answering their queries.
