About CSI: Formed in 1965, the CSI has been instrumental in guiding the Indian IT industry down the right path during its formative years. Today, the CSI has 66 chapters all over India, 381 student branches, and more than 62,000 members, including India's most famous IT industry leaders, brilliant scientists and dedicated academicians. The mission of the CSI is to facilitate research, knowledge sharing, learning and career enhancement for all categories of IT professionals, while simultaneously inspiring and nurturing new entrants into the industry and helping them to integrate into the IT community.

About IBM India (University Relations): In an increasingly flatter and inter-connected world, organizations no longer look for nuts-and-bolts programmers and support workers. Instead, IT departments are increasingly getting populated with "adaptive innovators" - those with deep education in their home disciplines and ability to think and act across multiple disciplines to meet the challenges of New Economy.

Over the next few years, we will see the growth of systems and industries that will control carbon emissions and optimize automobile traffic in major cities; track food moving through the global supply chain; capture and deliver solar and wind energy; and better monitor and improve the quality of health care. The increased demand for the corresponding business and technology skills will require students to develop a unique skill-set never seen before. This is why IBM is working closely with industry and academia to develop smarter skills that will prepare students for the jobs of tomorrow. This new integrated skill set combines critical thinking, creativity, and innovation with leadership, global awareness, and technology literacy. IBM encourages university innovation through a variety of outreach initiatives that range from technology education, student projects to curriculum enhancement and collaborative research. This is supported by vibrant and sustained interaction with students and academia using IBM academia collaboration platform where academia, students and IBMers come together to discuss, share, build knowledge and future directions leading to innovations for future - a true environment for Social Computing.
